100 Book Homework Challenge

The 100 Book Homework Challenge is a goal we are setting with the Kindergarten this year.

Every year we ask each K student to read a book with someone every night. This year each student will keep lists of the 100 books he/she has read and choose a favorite among each set of ten. At the end of 100 your child will be asked to look at his/her top ten and choose the top five! We will keep the pages on file and make a booklet with your child as a keepsake.

The goal is to reach 100 books on or before the 100th day of school which usually falls in February.

This assignment is open-ended with no particular deadline other than 100 Day, which is not set in stone if your child needs more time. When your child finishes the first ten books and returns the list and mini book review, we will put the next pages into the folder. Maybe choose favorite topics with your child: ten books about animals; ten from a favorite series or author; ten space books; ten number books; ten Halloween books; 10 books about friends, etc. Have fun with this and see how excited your child can get about reading a good book! We hope that this project will make lots of nice memories for you and your children.
