Halloween

We found out on Thursday morning that our Halloween plans had to be changed. We apologize to any parents who were inconvenienced by this, and thank you for your willingness to participate in K activities. Mrs. Mullen, our homeroom parent coordinator, sent a hard copy information slip in all folders on Thursday and followed up with emails regarding our change of plans. We decided to forego the Boo Breakfast because we already have an 8:30 November prayer service scheduled for Monday morning, election unit on Tuesday through Thursday, school photos, and the Beauty and the Beast event, all happening next week. In addition we will end November with our traditional Thanksgiving Prayer Service and Breakfast on Wednesday, November 26. Life is good on the Garden Level!

On Thursday morning we were able to celebrate with our Big Buddies by making our crayon costumes together. They look great and plenty of photos were taken, so watch for them in our hallway. You can take your child's costume home with you on conference day.

Since we couldn't parade on Halloween, here is our alternate plan. On Wednesday morning the children will use their costumes for Community Gathering. We have the costumes in school ready to go. On Wednesday have your child dress in the uniform described below. Students should get to school on Wednesday by 8 AM and report to the homeroom, not the gym. We will store our belongings, get our costumes on and enter Gathering as a grade. Senora Zinser will lead us in a Spanish witch song. Then we will remind everyone about Operation Crayon and with the school community bless the Operation Crayon donations.

Thank you for your Operation Crayon donations. We have several boxes filled so far and we still have until November 7! Thank you for encouraging the children to include others in their celebrating with a Mercy outreach effort. We hope the children enjoy the pop-up books from us. Thanks to Mrs. Candeloro for finding just the right Halloween treat for our 100 Book Homework Challenge readers!

Uniform of the day for Wednesday, November 5 is gym sweat pants, white crew socks, gym sneakers, and a white or black turtleneck. Boys, please do not buy a turtleneck just for this day. Renew the face of the earth and borrow one! (A white turtleneck is part of the girls' winter uniform.)
