Waldron Mercy Academy Named a Blue Ribbon School
Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought out schools
where students attain and maintain high academic goals. Using standards of
excellence evidenced by student achievement measures and the characteristics
known from research to exemplify school quality, the U.S Department of
Education Department celebrates schools that have placed in the top 10 percent
on state or national assessments or have shown dramatic improvement in student
performance to high levels on state or national assessments. This year,
Waldron Mercy Academy, a private Catholic co-educational elementary school in
Merion, PA, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Community, was one of 314 public and
private schools which achieved this status, out of more than 120,000 public
and private schools in the nation.
