Happy New Year! With the new year, new changes will take place in Room 12. We
say goodbye to Ms. Cowley. Again, I am most grateful to have had her be the
teacher in Room 12. She truly has the gift and your children flourished during
the first half of first grade. Ms. Cowley and I have communicated often and I
look forward to continuing what she has started. I will do my very best to
make the transition from Molly to me seamless for the children.
Please check with your children that they have the supplies needed for school:
pencils, crayons and markers. Often, January is a good time to bring in new
supplies. Please only send in 24 count crayons and 8 count markers.
Picture retakes are this Thursday, January 7. This is for children that were
not happy with the original photographs or students absent on the previous
picture day. Please return the packet of pictures if you are having retakes.
The children may wear their uniforms or dress clothes.
The children will have a Math test On Friday, January 8. The tested skills are
the following: temperature reading on thermometers, counting pennies, nickels,
dimes and making coin amounts, measuring to the nearest inch, time to the
hour, half and quarter to and quarter after, and addition facts. We will be
spending this week reviewing and practicing in hopes of great results on Friday!
