Letter People News

Ms. K with her "kaboom kick" arrives in our room. Ms. K is very proud of her kaboom kick but she is also very careful never to kick a person or kick when anyone is in the way.

We will be talking this week about people who might deserve a "kindness award".  Keep looking in your child's folder because one may be coming home to you.

Ms.K's theme is "kindness" and she will be happy to hear all the kind deeds that the children are doing both at home and at school.

Ms. K loves to talk about triangles so we will be looking for triangles in our world.

The children are getting very good at recognizing all the letters and his/her special feature.  It is amazing to me also that most of the children recognize the sounds that the letter people make and quickly catch me when I say a word that begins with any of the letter people that we have already met.  Use any opportunity you have at home to further their recognition of letters and sounds.  We try now to greet each of the letter people each morning but we do it in a way that the children have to think what letter I am thinking of.  I might say "Let's say Good Morning to the letter person who lives in Pennsylvania or the letter person who eats peanuts". Try some and see how quickly your child is able to tell you the letter.

Practice drawing the letter "K".  Review the letters "B",A", "M", H", P", "W"and "N". Remember to start all strokes from the top.

Look for things around your house that begin with the letter "K".
