What's To Talk About

Eric Dilli will be taking Little Bear home this weekend.  We hope all have a wonderful and fun weekend together. We look forward to hearing all about it in Little Bear's Journal.

Now that the feast is a memory, I can truly say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who worked with us in any way.  It was a wonderful feast and that is thanks to all of you.  We are a little slow in getting the guest pictures to you but we needed more time to get them developed and in the frames.  We promise to have them to you by the middle of the week.  The children will also be getting a class picture of "The Pilgrims".  It is the one that is on the web site "Caught Having Fun".

Our room will take on the Christmas Glow with Baby Jesus as the center of attention.  Before the children left on Wednesday, I showed them the manger that Baby Jesus might have been laid in when he was born.  It is hard and not at all comfortable but it can be soft if we put in a lot of  straw (yarn).  The children will have the opportunity to put straw (yarn) in Baby Jesus' bed whenever he/she does a kind deed, says a kind word, or speaks gently to a friend, brother, sister, Mom, Dad, etc..  It will be our goal to have the bed very very soft by the time Baby Jesus is born (or when we leave for Christmas vacation).  This will work somewhat like the feathers except that the straw will only be in school.  You can still send in notes if your child does anything helpful or kind at home and he/she can place a straw in Baby Jesus' bed.  We only have 3 weeks to accomplish our goal but I have great faith that we can do it.

I also showed the children our Advent wreath/candles and explained that each week we will be lighting another candle till all four are lit.  Your children may come home talking about this or singing our Advent song.

Coming home in your child's folder on Monday is a Christmas bell that will help in the Christmas countdown.  We thought it would be a fun activity to do at home and help with number recognition.  Have fun doing it each night.

Our hallway will be changing next week.  The Pilgrims will be leaving and the Gingerbread people and their houses will adorn the walls.  The children have been working on decorating their Gingerbread houses with Mrs. D.  Wait till you see the wonderful creativity of your child!

Take a deep breathe and enjoy this week because when we return we will be jumping right into Christmas excitement
