For Halloween, we will be M&M's.  All that you have to do is send your child to school that day wearing the color he/she chose.  You will get a piece of paper in your child'd folder next week asking you to ask your child what color M&M.  After that, we will do the rest.  In making the outfit, the children will have the opportunity to practice their skills in coloring, painting, patterning, and a few other skills.

 

As for the day's activities, we will be planning tomorrow and will be in touch with homeroom parents who in turn will be in touch with you. All the specifics will be ironed out by next week.  The best I can tell you right now is that we will have fun and it will be a special day where you can get involved with us.

 

Even though next week is a short week, we will be very busy.  The children will be coming home Friday with a new "Hat". Something exciting for you to look forward to and the children to make.  Mr. H loves happy moments.

 

You probably have seen some "Caught Being Good" bears coming home in your child's folder.  These are given out by Mrs. Centrella, Mrs. Tait or myself to any child who does something kind, helpful, thoughtful, or nice for the teachers or classmates.  In other words, your child got "caught being good".

If your child does something helpful at home this week, please send me a note and I will see that a "Bear Note" goes home in his/her folder.  Just remember that this is not a contest, but a way of making the children aware of the importance of doing nice kind things for others without being asked.

 

 You will see on the school calendar that progress reports come home on October 23.  This does not apply to Pre-K.  We do not do progress reports but we will have conferences with the rest of the school on November 5 and November6.  Conference forms will be coming home shortly and we ask you to return them if you wish a conference.

 

Community Gathering will be this Wednesday at 8:15.  Please remember to have your child in school by 8:05 so that he/she will be ready to share in this gathering.  Those children who are in the gym will stay there and the rest of the children will walk up with me.
