Letter People News

Mr.H with his "happy hair" hops into our room on Wednesday.  He is coming to teach us all about how to be healthy and practice good health habits.

Mr. H has some "homework" for every child.  Over the long weekend, look for pictures of healthy foods, cut them out and put them in an envelope marked with your child's name and the words "healthy foods.  All envelopes need to be in your child's folder on Wednesday.  We need them for a very special project.

Mr. H also likes being a scientist.  He has a special experiment planned for us .  He thinks you will like it too, so directions for doing the "happy ballon" will be coming home in your child's folder.

Since we will not be doing any cooking and crafting this weekend, I am sending home an idea for a fun actoivity to do with your child.  It is making "Hedgehog Biscuit".  You will need 1 refrigerator biscuit, pretzels sticks broken in half. 3 raisins and cinnamon sugar.  Place the biscuit on a tray covered with aluminum foil, stick the pretzels sticks on the top to make it look like hair, push in raisins for eyes and nose, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and place in the oven.  Bake for the amount of time that is on the biscuit container.  While you are making 1, you might as well make up a few extras for everyone in the family.  I guarantee it will be a big hit.  Have fun cooking together!

Remember --NEVER GIVE AWAY THE LETTER PERSON"S NAME BEFORE MONDAY.

Look for capital "H" in books, newpapers, cereal boxes, and anything that is around.  You might want to give your child a highlighter and a page from a magazine or paper and have him/her find and mark all capital or lower case "h's".
Don't forget to keep looking and identifying "N', "W"and "P". We always try to say hello to them each morning and think of things that begin with their sounds.  Take every opportunity you can to review recognizing the letters presented and the sound they make.
