Gym this week will be on Tuesday (Day 1) and Thursday (Day 3).
Please return the survey concerning our Thanksgiving Feast. Your imput is very important to our planning for next year. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions.
Please remember to pack a napkin with your child's lunch. Since we eat in the room, the more the child has on his/her own, the easier it is for us.
Use any opportunity to talk about rhyme. Find rhymes in books.
Encourage your child to listen to you the First Time when talking or giving directions. Play a game where you give your child a series of directions to follow (repeat only once). See how well he/she listens to you. For example:
Jump on one foot 2 times
Go into the kitchen
Sit next to the refrigerater
Bundle up (hats, mittens, scarves, etc.) for the cold weather. We will go out for fresh air and a chance to run around and use those large muscles.
When you are in the building, notice the Kindness Trophies" hanging outside our room.
Look for some pictures from our Thanksgiving Feast on the link "Caught Having Fun" after Wednesday. I hope to do this after school on Wednesday.
Practice the letters N,W,P,H, M, A, B, K and D on small chalhboards. Emphasize that all letters start at the top. Using water and a paintbrush is as good as chalk. Using the sidewalk is also as good as using a chalkboard. Fat short crayons are best.
Remember the "A-Ok" grip -- thumb and index finger holding the writing utensil and the other three fingers under the pencil or crayon allowing it to rest. Also remind your child to rest his/her arm on the table and not hold it up in the air. All of these tips help with ease in coloring or writing.
