About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
My name is Sara Desmond. I have been teaching at Wilson for almost eight years, and I have found that I really enjoy my time with the students because I am able to use reading and writing as a means to get to know my students as people and future adults. Some interesting facts about me include that I was a competitive gymnast for over ten years and a varsity cheerleader for Phillipsburg High School. I am now married and have three beautiful children. Growing up, I spent way too much time at wrestling matches watching my brothers, the Ciasulli's, wrestle for Easton, and then Lehigh University. They now help my father run practices at Red Hawk Wrestling Club, where my son Nathan has recently become a member. I absolutely love country music - though I try to listen to many different genres - and I love, love, love Sirius XM Radio. I have an undergraduate degree, as well as my masters, from East Stroudsburg University.
Mission Label:
Mission
This year, I hope to teach my students more than just reading and writing. I hope to teach them to be responsible for their actions so that they can become successful teenagers and adults in the future. Once they move on to college, or find themselves in the work force, they will be expected to work with people they do not necessarily get along with and they will be required to do things they do not want to do. As high school students, they have the same responsibilities, which will prepare them for the real world.
