This week we have half-days due to Parent-Teacher Conferences.
If you were not able to sign up for a conference and would like to arrange one, contact Linda
McDowell in Guidance. It may be possible to arrange one for December or January, or you can
wait for Spring Conferences Week
Please Note: Parent conferences are not mandatory in 7th Grade. If you are pleased with your
child's academic performance and would prefer to e-mail the teacher(s) on an as-needed basis
instead of having a conference, that's OK!
IF YOU DID MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, it's very important to arrive on schedule. We have quite a few
conferences, and they are only 15 minutes each, so we will be trying very hard to stay on schedule!
Please be prepared with any questions or concerns you may have about your child's academic progress so
that we can make the most of the time we have. We look forward to seeing you! We'll be meeting in
the Social Studies classroom - Room 238.
PARENTS:
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO SOME CHANGES IN THE PARENT PORTAL FOR SCHOOL YEAR 08-09, SAPPHIRE IS NOT
NOTIFYING YOU VIA E-MAIL IF YOUR STUDENT'S GRADES ARE BELOW A CERTAIN GRADE/PERCENTAGE. SAPPHIRE IS
WORKING ON RECTIFYING THIS BUT IN THE MEANTIME PLEASE CHECK YOUR STUDENTS GRADES ON A REGULAR BASIS.
GRADES IN THE PORTAL ARE BEING UPDATED ALMOST ON A DAILY BASIS BY THE TEACHERS. IF YOU HAVE ANY
QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT YOUR STUDENT'S SCHOOL.

A note about e-mail to teachers: We have a very sensitive spam filter, which occasionally catches
real e-mails and sees them as SPAM. If you contact us and we don't get right back to you, this may
be the reason! Re-send the e-mail. If outside emails contain WSD in the SUBJECT line of the email,
the spam filter will allow the message through. The whole text of the subject doesn�t matter, it
just needs to have the letters WSD in there somewhere. Thanks.

Student grades are accesible online. If you don't already have a username and password for
accessing the SAPPHIRE gradebook site, please direct your questions to the following email
