Ready for A Great Year!

Principal Photo
August 29, 2012 begins the 14th year for the Wycallis Elementary School – and it’s going to be a great one! 100% of our faculty from last year is returning and I am set to begin my second year as principal. I couldn’t be prouder or more excited. The Dallas School District custodial and maintenance staff have worked hard all summer to prepare our school. It is spotless and ready! Our teachers have been working throughout the summer to prepare their classrooms, their lessons and materials, and themselves – and they are ready! All we need is students, and I’m sure they are ready and can’t wait!

As the principal, I look forward to another year of hard work, learning, fun, excitement, and success in the classroom, in the arts, and in the school community. Our teachers, staff, and I remain committed to the success of each individual child and pledge to do everything we can to help each student be successful. Please contact me at preinert@dallassd.com or 570-674-7283 if you have any questions.

Now, let’s get started!

Class Lists to be Posted

Parent/Caregiver Transportation

Students who ride to and from school in cars will adhere to the following procedures. In the morning, students must remain in their cars until 8:50 AM. At 8:50 AM, students will enter the building and report immediately to the gymnasium where they will sit on the floor and wait to be dismissed by the supervising staff person to their classrooms at 9:00 AM.
At dismissal, students who are going home in cars will report to the Welcome Man entrance when called and will board the shuttle bus when directed. The shuttle bus will transport the students to the Middle School to meet their parent/caregivers. Parents/caregivers will take the main campus access road from Hildebrandt Rd. to the parking lot near the Middle School. Students will be released from the bus by supervising staff and meet their parents/caregivers on the sidewalk near the bus loading area between the Middle School and High School.

Student Safety During Morning Drop Off

Morning drop off can be very very dangerous for students. When children exit vehicles on the left they step out into traffic. Teach them to exit on the right. Many drivers are anxious to get to work and pass vehicles which are discharging children. Some parents/caregivers are also distracted by talking or texting on cell phones. We ask that parents/caregivers speed up the process by using the whole drop off half circle for discharging children. We beg drivers to exercise greater caution. The safety of our precious children is in the hands of drivers.
