will beautify the entrance of our school!
*RAIN DATE* Friday, April 27th

10:15 Earth Day Snack
PM Session

Volunteers will be needed for that day and are asked to bring with them any
landscaping tools such as rakes, trowels, hand shovels, etc…
Note: For safety reasons, children may not bring these items to school with
them.
On April 20th, each child should bring two plastic grocery bags (one for
kneeling and one for weed collection) as well as a pair of garden gloves (a
pair will be provided if a child does not have any).
Looking forward to this fun Earth Day project!
**Please send in the volunteer form if you would like to help out!

Please remember to send your child with a water bottle. Now that the days
are becoming warmer, it is needed.

Our treasure box reward supply is getting low. I would appreciate any
donations. We are also in need of a large bag of pretzels or goldfish for
students that forget their snack. Thank you. Mrs. Flynn

We are "tapping" the sounds in words with three sounds. Next we blend them
and say the words.
Here are some words to get started:
cat dog fox can fan box hog big but at mat hat

Students should make an "ok" sign with their one hand. Tap thumb to pointer
finger for the first sound, thumb to middle finger for middle sound, and
thumb to ring finger for ending sound.
I am working on a short video to demonstrate this for you.

We recently started creating Number Stories. For fun, use your child's and
family member's names in the stories.
For example:
Ellie built 2 snowmen in the field. Daniel built 2 more snowmen. How many
snowmen were in the field together?

I passed out cookies for snack. Barbie had 5 cookies and gave one to her
friend Ken. How many cookies does Barie have left?

Be creative and have fun. Try and have your child illustrate the story for
you. Later you can add numbers and the symbols. Ex: (2 + 2 = 4)

Kindergarten Supply List

All children should bring the following the first day of school:

* A backpack suitable to hold a folder
* A folder for papers and homework
(Plastic folders tend to last and hold up better)
* A daily healthy snack and a water bottle labeled with your child’s name
(Please no lunchboxes and only plain water in the water bottle)
* A pack of crayons (no more than 24)
* A 4-pack of Expo chisel tip dry erase markers (black or blue)
* 2 large glue sticks (.77 oz. or larger)

**If unable to supply items, I will make sure your child has supplies needed.

Children should have a pencil, scissors, glue, and crayons at home to
complete homework. The kindergarten teachers will supply pencils, erasers,
scissors, and other necessary supplies for use at school. Each teacher has
a “Wish List” that includes items needed in the classroom. Thanks for your
support!

Mrs. Flynn

**I will be asking for some donations to use as rewards for our "Treasure
Box". Fun erasers, pencils, small toys, stickers, small toys, even fast food
toys opened or upopened work well!
