Letter of the Week Homework is due on Thursdays. The K Reader and Wordless story are due on Fridays. The "Family Times" paper book will be sent home Mondays. This introduces the poem/letter we will work around that week. This book does not have to be returned. The "Wordless Reader" and the "Kindergarten Reader" will be due on Fridays. Have your child look through the wordless book once or twice to get an idea of what they want the story to be about. Next, your child should be able to tell you what is happening on each page. You can do all or some of the writing, or no writing at all. If your child wants to write one word on each page, that is fine too. On Fridays we read through the book together as a class and I ask students to tell me what is happening on different pages. I do not read what the parents wrote in the books. When we review the "Kindergarten Reader" we will read it together as a class. I might have the girls read a page then the boys read another or everyone on the top step read a page together, etc. We identify what each word begins with and ends in and what sounds we hear at the beginning and end of each work. Once we start working on a letter a week, the "Weekly Letter Homework" will be due Thursdays. I will ask each student to read three things that they drew or cut out on the back of the paper. Please review all homework with your child and sign your initials on the front.. "Math Links" will also be sent home. This paper does not have to be returned.
