Is there homework every night?

There is homework every night. It is not always a written assignment. The
students should always review the Science or Social Studies read in class or
discussed that day. There are spelling words to study. The students also
have Reading, Science, and Social Studies definitions to learn. There is
usually a map to study as well. There is time to start any homework in
class; any work not completed is to be completed for homework. And, of
course, the students have a book report to complete.

How many book reports must be completed?

The students must complete a total of four book reports - one for each
marking period. They have a packet of information on this. In addition to
writing a summary of the book read, the student must complete a project.
The packet contains all the details for the writing of the book report and
the various projects that can be completed.

What if my child is absent?

If your child is absent it is important that their work be sent home. You
can pick up your child's homework or the Homework Buddy can take it home.
Any Reading work(Practice Book and worksheets) will not be sent home. I
will list the work to be completed in all subjects and also include any of
the upcomng tests or assignments. I do not expect all the work to be
completed since your child was sick. They can complete as much as possible
and make the rest of the work either in school(time permitting) or for
homework. Please have you child bring the paper(s) with their listed back
with them. Thank you.
