Reading: There are quite a few tests for each theme. There will be
vocabulary quizes, a test on the selection read, Weekly Skills Test, and
Theme Tests. The Weekly Skills Test and the Theme Tests include information
taught throughout the theme.
There is also a book report due every marking period. Your child has a
packet of information on the writing of the book report and the projects
which can be completed for each book report.
Spelling: There will be a spelling test for each story we read. There may
not be a spelling test each week.
Math:The skill taught each day will be practiced in class. Time will be
given to start the homework; any work not completed is to be completed for
homework. There are quizes after completeing some lessons and a chapter
test. It is important that your child ask if they do not understand because
we complete one lesson every day. Generally, if you don't understand what
we did today, you will have some difficulty on the next day's lesson. I
have to complete one new lesson every day.
Homework slips are given for any assignment that is incomplete or not done.
Your child is placed on detention when he/she receives three homework slips
in any subject. Homework slips must be signed and returned.
All tests must also be signed and returned.
