Homework

Homework is given to reinforce the skills learned each day and to also teach
responsibility. One or two specific assignments will be given each night, in
addition to studying vocabulary and spelling words or practicing math facts.
The homework will be due the following day unless it is a special project
with a specific due date. There will be no homework on the weekends.
Homework assignments will be written on the board each day and the students
will be expected to record the assignments into their planners. Homework
must be 1)neat, 2)complete, and 3)on time to be considered complete.

In the event that a student does not complete their homework, they will be
held responsible and will have to complete the assignment on their own time
(recess). If an assignment is not completed on time because of a family
emergency, illness, or another circumstance that the child is not responsible
for, please send a note in so the child is not held at fault for not
completing the assignment. Hopefully, incomplete or late assignments will
not be a regular occurrence.

Your child will have a spiral homework planner in order to keep homework
assignments organized. After your child copies the homework assignment for
the day in his/her planner, I will initial the space to make sure the
assignment is written correctly. I would ask that you initial the homework
tablet each evening near my initials. We will write the homework assignments
in the planner each day.
