Supply List

6th Grade School Supply List
The following basic school supplies are suggested for Mrs. Connors
6th grade class. Please try to provide as many items on the list as
possible for your child.
Please mark supplies and jackets with student's name.

#2 Pencils ( 1 dozen) - From experience, pencils that use #2 lead are preferred over the constant sharpening that is required from the ordinary pencils
Storage for pencils, pens, etc. (zippered pencil case is preferred but boxes are acceptable)
Storage box for art supplies (to be stored in designated classroom area, separate from everyday needed items, such as pencils, pens, etc.)
Erasers
Small personal pencil sharpener
Ball Point Pen (blue or black erasable ink only)
Glue (school) or glue stick
Colored Pencils
Washable markers (set of 8)
4 Wide or College ruled Notebooks (one for Language Arts, Science/Social Studies, and Math)
5 Pocket Folders (Please, NO Trapper Keepers/Binders – They are not recommended because of lack of space in the students’ desks.)
Try color coding notebooks/folders per subject to help with organization. For example, you may want to buy a yellow notebook and folder for Spelling, a green notebook and folder for English, etc. It makes loading up your homework at the end of the day v
2 correcting pens with red ink
12" Ruler with metric and standard measurements
Clear Back pack or book bag
Highlighters
Small Stapler
Scotch tape
Book covers – Math, Science, and Social Studies books must be covered and remain covered all year. This will be strictly enforced.
Dictionary/Thesaurus (pocket size or paper back)
Small travel pack of tissues (more during the winter/cold season: everyone seems to get sick at the same time, so we run out of tissues fast.)
