Now here is a chance to tell you a bit about me. Let's start at the
beginning.
I've been a resident of Exeter, PA my entire life, so I know our little
towns well. I went to Wyoming Area Catholic from 1-8th grade, and then
graduated high school from Wyoming Area in 1996.
I had a thing for the performing arts, so many of you might not know that my
first Bachelor's degree is in Music. I attended Ithaca College in NY and
earned a degree in Music with an outside field in Theater and an emphasis in
dance. That was a great world, until I realized that I needed to work 7
jobs to survive. Thus, I worked at a day care, and was inspired to go back
to school for elementary ed. What a great decision it was.
I completed my credits for Elementary Education through Kings College, and
then I earned my Masters Degree from Wilkes University. I still take
graduate classes and even teach a few myself at King's University.
I didn't completly give up the performing though. I've been a lead singer
in multiple bands such as Groove Train, Somethin Else, The Grand Tour Band,
The New York Times Band, Take 5, Broadway Showtime, Willow, and Cheap
Thrills. I am also the artistic director and owner of the Bethany School of
Music and the Performing Arts in Exeter.
Now here's a little personal stuff, but not too much. I am married to a
wonderful man named Jeremy who is also a teacher at Montessori, and we have
two dogs...Shaka and Max who are both 5 year old Lab. mixes. We also just
had a little girl last year. Her name is Emelia (Emmy) Elizabeth Connor.
She's my everything.
I've been out of school for a little bit to have Emmy, but now I'm back and
ready and excited for a new school year. Well, that's about it. I hope you
enjoyed the fabuous, mysterious life of
Mrs. Connor.
Here are several focal points that I would like to achieve this year with
your children:
- Organization - They'll be the first to tell you, I am an organization,
labeling maniac, and I think everyone else in the world should be too.:)
- Choices - I want your children to know how to handle making choices. They
will have plenty of opportunites to choose wisely (hopefully) during our
days
in the classroom.
- Fun - I want your children to have fun while learning. I will do whatever
it takes to get your children to, as they commonly put it, "Get It!" So
sometimes you will hear about projects, and singing, and dancing, and other
crazy things. Who ever thought learning could be so fun?
- Standards - I will strive to have your children be the best students they
can be and be successful in school.
