I believe homework is important and should not be used as busy work.
Homework assignments are checked in class and do receive points towards the
student's grade. The students are able to receive partial credit if the
assignment is brought in the following day. After that, points are not given.
If a child misses additional homework assignments, a note from me will
be written in the planner and/or a homework note will be sent explaining the
missing work. This message needs to be signed by the parent/guardian and
returned with the completed assignments. Work turned in past the days
allowed to receive points, should still be completed, as this will be
considered in participation and also discussed during parent conference time.
Homework is not always assigned on weekends, however, depending on a
particular lesson or break in the school calendar, weekend work is possible.
