About The Teacher

I am a graduate of Wyoming Valley West. I received a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in science from
College Misericordia and a Master Of Education in Curriculum and Development
from Wilkes University. I began my teaching career as a substitue teacher
for various schools in the Wyoming Valley until I was hired by the Pittston
YMCA to teach in their Nursery School program. Three years later I was hired
by St. John the Baptist School in Pittston to teach 5th through 8th Science
and remained for fifteen years until the school was closed by the Diocese of
Scranton. I have been teaching at Wyoming Area since 2004 first as a
Kindergarten teacher and then as a first grade teacher. This year I am very
excited to be teaching fifth grade.
I have been selected to Who's Who Among America's Teachers several
times, Cambridge Who's Who, and was nominated to Disney's Teacher of the
Year.
I live in Exeter with my husband Tom, my daughter Jessica, who is also
a teacher, our chihuahua, Cheech, and our two cats, Cosmo and Tilley. My
other daughter, Jennifer, lives in Philadelphia.
My pasttimes are singing and continuing my education.
