Homework is assigned as necessary to practice and review the skills that are
taught in school. Homework is not assigned on weekends or holidays, as I feel
that it is time for your child to spend with family. Each of our classrooms
has a homework board where assignments for all subjects are posted daily. We
encourage your child to copy the assignments into the planner that was
provided by the PTO.
The daily schedule does not allow much time to complete homework in school.
If your child’s homework is not completed on the day that it is due, a
homework slip will be sent home you informing you of the missing assignment.
This work is to be completed and sent in the next day along with the signed
homework slip. If your child misses three homework assignments in
one subject during one marking period, after school detention will be
assigned.
However, if an emergency occurs that prevents your child from completing the
homework assignment, please send in a note so I know that you are aware of
your child's obligation. This will allow your child the opportunity to turn
in the completed assignment the next day and receive full credit for it.
This should not be an everyday occurrence.
