Objectives

created by others.
* To help students gain the knowledge, skill, and confidence needed to
improve their own drawing efforts.

Creating & Understanding Drawings, Gene A. Mittler and James D. Howze.
This text is a comprehensive approach to the study of drawing that includes
aesthetics, art criticism, and art history.
Homework
Each student is responsible to hand in a total of ten drawings per
quarter from direct observation.
Prerequisites
Drawing is fundamental. It would be helpful, but not necessary to have
taken Studio Art before enrolling in Drawing. Grade ten, eleven, or twelve.
Units of Study
An Introduction to Drawing, Imitational Drawings, Formal Drawings,
Emotional Drawings, and Special Topics in Drawing.
Evaluation
The final grade is an average of homework, projects and activity grades.
Assessment criteria are listed with individual projects.
