Kindergarten Events

                                            October

October is a busy and exciting month for J.F.K.'s kindergarten students.

We enjoyed our extension of the classroom field trip to Roba's Pumpkin
Patch. The children enjoyed the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, picking
their special pumpkin, feeding the farm animals, and especially the gift shop!

The children learned about Christopher Columbus and became explorers using
their telescopes and sailor hats they made in class.

During Fire Prevention Week the firemen from the Exeter Volunteer Hose
Company No. 1 visited the J.F.K.'s kindergarten. Kindergarten students wore
their Dalmation hats to greet the firemen. We would like to thank our
Volunteer Hose Company for giving up their time to come to our school to
teach us about fire prevention.

On Halloween our kindergarten classroom was invaded by a witch, a
princess, Darth Vader, a Swamp Monster, a devil, a vampire, and many more
fantastic characters! The Halloween parade was followed by a classroom
party. The children enjoyed healthy snacks, playing games, and dancing. I
would like to thank parents for sending in snacks and my homeroom mom for
arranging our spooktacular party!

                                           November

Kindergarten students experienced their first pep rally. The high school
visited J.F.K. to cheer on the football team before their game with Pittston
Area. Kindergarten joined the cheerleaders dancing and cheering. The band
was playing music. Then the football players charged into the cafeteria.
There was great excitement! After the pep rally the band members,
cheerleaders, and football players visited our classroom and signed
autographs.

Mrs. Serino was our guest reader. She came dressed as a Pilgrim. The
children enjoyed the Thanksgiving stories she read. They greeted her wearing
their Native American headbands and necklaces. Later they enjoyed some
treats made from corn and fruit snacks from Mrs. Serino. We want to thank
Mrs. Serino for being a guest reader and for the fruit snacks.
