Foreign Language Goals and Objectives

Foreign Language Course Objectives:

1. Communicate in French on both the written and spoken language on a variety 
of topics
2. Develop speaking and listening skills through conversations and dialogues
3. Gain knowledge and understanding of French culture
4. To reinforce knowledge of other disciplines through the study of foreign 
language
5. To acquire information and perspectives that are available only through 
the foreign language and within the foreign culture
6. Develop insight into own language and culture
7. Recognize different patterns of communication and apply this knowledge to 
their own language
8. Demonstrate evidence of becoming life-long learners by using the target 
language for personal enjoyment and enrichment

Grading Policy

The grading in the class follows the system adopted by the Wyoming Area 
School District

A = 95-100
A-  = 90-94
B = 85-89
B-  = 80-84
C = 75-79
C-  = 70-74
D = 65-69
F = below 65

Final Notes :
The French courses are designed to introduce students to the beautiful French 
language along with its customs, traditions, and rich history. It is hoped 
that during the year the students will understand a culture other than their 
own and begin to appreciate language learning and communication in the target 
language.
