Tasks

Task 1-  Using the Internet, find and print a political map of Canada.  Make  
sure that all provinces, territories, and their capitals are clearly 
labeled.  On the blank map provided, label the provinces, territories, and 
their capitals.  Be sure to follow your map making rules.  Staple the 
Internet map to the map you labeled and turn it in to be assessed.  Make sure 
your name, section, and date appear on the maps.



Task 2-  Using the Internet, find and print a physical feature map of 
Canada.  Make sure that all physical features are clearly labeled.  On the 
blank map provided, label the major physical features of Canada.  Be sure to 
follow your map making rules.  Staple the Internet map to the map you labeled 
and turn it in to be assessed.  Make sure your name, section, and date appear 
on the maps.



Task 3-  Use the natural resource chart provided, to list the natural 
resources of Canada and give at least two reasons why they are important to 
the country.  Use your text book, the Internet, and the links below to assist 
you.  When you finish, make sure you turn it in to be assessed.  Make sure 
your name, section, and date are complete.

LAND Task 4- You have two options for Canada's climate. Option 1- Compare the climate of Canada with the United States. Complete the Venn diagram provided to you. When finished, summarize the Venn diagram. Write one paragraph on Canada's climate, one paragraph on the climate in the U.S., and one paragraph on the similarities. When you finish, make sure you turn it in to be assessed. Make sure your name, section, and date are complete. Option 2- Create a weather map of today's weather in Canada. Use the blank map that is provided. Be sure to use the weather symbols you learned in class. Use the link below to find current weather conditions in Canada. CANADA WEATHER Task 5- Use the economy chart provided to list at least four (4) ways that Canada’s economy functions. Be sure to list the economic features and how it influences Canada’s economy in a positive way. Use the link below to assist you. When you finish, make sure you turn it in to be assessed. Make sure your name, section, and date are complete. CANADA ECONOMY Task 6- Use the aspects of Canadian culture on the handout to supply details about the Canadian way of life. It is important to give details with your answers, for example, why is French spoken in parts of Canada? After the chart is complete, on a separate piece of paper, use the details to create descriptive paragraphs of each aspect of Canadian culture. Use the links below to help you find the details for Canadian culture. When you finish, staple your paragraphs to the handout and make sure you turn it in to be assessed. Now create an informational brochure of Canada using Microsoft Word. The document will be two (2) pages, three (3) columns per page on the Landscape setting. One (1) column is for your cover and the remaining five (5) columns are to be filled with information and pictures. Use as much of your research as possible.
