Take a Classroom Tour

This is our classroom word wall and morning meeting gathering area. Each morning we will gather together to review the calendar, days of the week, weather, sing songs, and say the pledge to the flag. We also count the days we've been in school and work on telling time, counting coins, and patterning as part of our morning meeting.

Here is our classroom library and technology corner! Our books are grouped by subject (alphabet books, back-to-school books, cats and dogs, Clifford, Little Critter, transportation, etc). We have two student computers in our library area for children to use during free time or during work stations. Children can sit at the small table near the library to color or build puzzles.

This is just another view of our morning meeting area and whole group instruction area. Mrs. Hess also reads lots of stories from that blue chair!

This is our free play area! A developmentally appropriate and important part of any kindergarten program is free play! Children have a wide variety of toys and games to choose from, including blocks, LEGOS, board games, puzzles, dramatic play, and more. Free play occurs as children arrive in the morning and at the end of each day.

Our classroom has a sink area, as well as a private bathroom. There are also two closets for the children to hang up and store their belongings each day.

These two student computers are for children to use during free time and during independent work stations (centers). The computers are not connected to the internet, but children may choose from many educational games like Reader Rabbit, Clifford Phonics, and Jump Start Reading/Math.
