                               Book Collage


Objective: Students create a collage based on a Newbery Medal or Newbery 
Honor book that presents information about the story in a fun, creative 
format.

The guidelines for each part of the collage are as follows:

- Use the 8.5 x 14 sheet of paper provided – fill the paper with information!

- 10 points - Identify the title and author of the book.  Example:

                        The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
                            By: L. Frank Baum

- 10 points - Identify the three main characters, use an image for each, and 
write one sentence describing each character.  Example:
 
                                Dorothy Gale
                             Is a brave girl who
                         Has many adventures in the
                                 Land of Oz.

- 10 points - Write a one-paragraph summary that describes the main conflict 
and the resolution of the book.  You may choose to surround it with border or 
colorful images.

- 10 points – Identify the setting (time and place) and use an image that 
relates to it.  Example:
                                  Setting
                            Time: Early 1900’s
                            Place: Kansas & Oz

- 10 points – Use at least 5 additional words, images, or lines that relate 
to your book.  Example: 

                 Flying Monkeys          "Surrender Dorothy"

- 5 points – Neatness, including spelling/punctuation/grammar

· Computer graphics or hand-drawn illustrations are acceptable.  Students may 
choose to type or neatly hand-write their material.
· Students may choose to use Clip Art and WordArt, if available.
· Follow directions EXACTLY!


           DUE: Wednesday, December 2nd – NO EXCEPTIONS – 55 points
