Dear Parents,
The second quarter outside reading book in English 11CP is going to be Water
For Elephants, by Sara Gruen. I have asked your child to either purchase a
copy from a bookstore or borrow one from the local or school library by
November 6.
While Water For Elephants is this year’s pick for Read Across RI, I do want
to inform you that the book contains a small amount of material that may be
considered inappropriate for school. I assure you, however, that this is a
wonderful story, rich with history and the culture of a time period long
gone. Should you have any concerns about this novel, please don’t hesitate
