Something to Ponder

--- ALL TRUTH IS FOUND IN PARADOX ---

"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." F. Scott Fitzgerald, Author and Screenwriter "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound Truth may well be another profound Truth." Niels Bohr, Physicist "God forbid that Truth should be confined to mathematical demonstration." William Blake, Poet and Engraver "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, / Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." Shakespeare's Hamlet "Traditional scientific method has always been at the very best, 20 - 20 hindsight. It's good for seeing where you've been. It's good for testing the truth of what you think you know, but it can't tell you where you ought to go." Robert M. Pirsig, Author and Philosopher "The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by the answers." James Baldwin, Author and Essayist "Each thing we see hides something else we want to see." Rene Magritte, Artist "Art and physics are a strange coupling.... Yet despite what appear to be irreconcilable differences, there is one fundamental feature that solidly connects these disciplines. Revolutionary art and visionary physics are both investigations into the nature of reality." Leonard Schlain, Surgeon and Author "I'm in favor of an art that does something other than just sits on its ass in a museum." Claes Oldenburg, Sculptor "To have the sense of creative activity is the great happiness and the great proof of being alive." Matthew Arnold, Poet and Literary Critic "Tell the Truth, but tell it slant" Emily Dickinson, Poet and Recluse The young always have the same problem - how to rebel and conform at the same time. They have now solved this by defying their parents and copying one another. Quentin Crisp, Author and Actor ... "You're still here? Hey, why don't you go read a book or something? Oscar the Grouch, Entertainer and Misanthrope
