About The Teacher

Mrs. Guerin graduated from the University of RI with a degree in Zoology and 
from Rhode Island College with a Masters Degree in Education.

Mrs Guerin has also:
     worked at McCourt Middle School for sixteen years as a Physical       
Science, General Science and/or Math Teacher

volunteers as a local naturalist at Metcalf-Franklin Farm on Abbott Run 
Valley Rd in Cumberland

worked as a naturalist for the Audubon Society of RI and as a director 
for their summer program.
 
     been a pilot teacher for the Project DESIGNS curriculum which was 
written through a National Science Foundation grant through Harvard- 
Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge Massachusetts.  Project 
DESIGNS is an engineering challenge- based curriculum for grades 5-9.

Mrs. Guerin has also been recognized for the following awards:

2006 Alpha Delta Kappa Excellence in Education Award
   2003 Milken Educator
   2001 Cumberland Teacher of the Year
   2001 Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching
