November 30 –Dec. 2 – Our class takes MAP in the computer lab from 1:00 to 1:45 each afternoon.

Tying Shoes

Please help your child learn to tie their shoes. We do not tie shoes after December so start practicing so they will be ready come January 4, 2010!

New behavior system

If your child is still having problems due to behavior, I have a plan of action. Starting Monday November 30, your child will have a daily calendar that will show you how many times that day your child had a problem listening and following directions. Your child has a chart that we place a tally mark on for each time we have had to repeat instructions or each time they were not following directions. We hope that once students see how often this is occuring, they will strive to reduce the number of tallies per day.

No newsletter/homework

this week!

I will not be sending home a newsletter or a homework sheet this week. We will send home 100 book folders and I encourage all of you to take some time and enjoy reading with your child over the holiday. Our students are really working hard and we are seeing some amazing results!

Treasure Box

Several parents sent in items last week for treasure box and I really appreciate the donations. Treasure box is a wonderful way to reward students for their behavior and it truly motivates them! It is a tremendous expense on a weekly basis and I thank you so much for your donations!!

Checking out early

If your child needs to leave school early please send us a note so we may have their things ready for them.

We must have a note if their is a change in transportation for your child. We cannot take the word of a 5 or 6 year old child. Please place a note in your child's fish folder for us.

AR books

For the second week in a row, I had the pleasure of helping 10 students take AR tests. I was very pleased to see their comprehension and clear understanding of the stories they had read! Way to go!
