ONLINE BOOK CLUB
Fall Selection - The Dark is Rising by Nancy Cooper. The first meeting will be September 10th at 7:45. Particpants will pick up their books, Star Reader passes, and their handouts. We will conclude on October 12th! Participants need to refer to their handout for important dates and requirements.
Winter Selection - From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. The cost of the book is $1.00 Book club begins October and concludes November 16th. Participants need to post at least three comments on the blog and answer 7 of the end of book questions.
MEDIA LITERACY
Accelerated Reader Store
The AR store will open at the end of each nine weeks. Students can buy items
based on the number of AR point they earned. Points range from 5 to 80
points. Students can choose to use all their points in the store or carry
over their points for the next nine weeks. Using points in the store will no
take away from their overall year end points.
STIVE FOR FIVE!
Our school wide goal for this year is for every student to read at least 10
books with a mastery of at least 80% on each book. The focus is to read five
books per sememster to you will not feel so overwhelmed. They can be books
that you read independently or books that teachers read to you in class. You
can take an AR test on the book or complete another assignment gave to you
by your teacher. Just remember to make at least an 80%!
I will udpate the display in the hall outside the library door each month.
You can stop by and see how many STARS you have earned! Prizes will also be
awarded for 5 and 10 books mastered!
