Raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Martinez is now in his third year as Director of Bands at Fox
Creek High School. Before teaching at FCHS, Mr. Martinez attended the University of South Carolina
where he earned his B.M. in Music Education in 2009. While attending USC, Mr. Martinez performed with
the USC Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and other small ensembles. Mr. Martinez has
worked as a brass clinician for several middle and high schools across the state of South Carolina.
Under Mr. Martinez's direction, the Fox Creek High School Music Program will try and gain recognition
locally as a hard working and respectable band program. He is also brought the Tri-M Music Honor
Society to Fox Creek, as the chapter advisor. When Mr. Martinez is not teaching or performing with
Savannah River Winds, he enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee, composing music, practicing trumpet, gigs,
paintball, family time, and watching action movies.
Mr. Martinez holds professional affiliations with the South Carolina Band Directors Association, South
Carolina Music Educators Association, MENC, and Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity.
