Geometry Honors is a course intended for the students who has a thorough understanding of arithmetic and algebra. This course stresses the use of deductive reasoning with an emphasis on developing the concept of formal proofs. Algebra skills are applied to solving problems involving geometric ideas. Supplies needed: textbook pen/pencil calculator assignments notebook ruler protractor compass Grading Policy: Nine weeks grades will be based on grades from chapter tests, quizzes, homework, and class work. Chapter tests are always announced in advance. Any student absent on the day of a test is responsible for arranging a time with me to make up the test. No test grades will be dropped. Quizzes will be given on a regular basis and will sometimes be unannounced. At the end of the 9 wks, I will drop your lowest quiz grade before averaging your final grade. Homework will be checked regularly and a grade will be assigned based on the effort and completeness of the work. Homework is only accepted on the day it is due…no late homework is accepted.
