Passports

Each student will be given a passport the first week of school. These will be stamped each week according to completed homework for that week. The passports are the student's responsibility to take care of and keep throughout the year. Each night, the student will have a parent sign their agenda book authorizing that the homework has been completed. Every day must be signed in the agenda book except for Friday since no homework is given Friday. No homework is given on Wednesday, but sometimes there are notes I write on the board for the students to write, and I want to make sure the parents read them. After a week of four signatures (Monday-Thursday), the students will receive a stamp in their passport booklet on Friday. After they have received four stamps in their passport booklets, they will receive a homework pass. This homework pass may be used for any night that I do not have a test/quiz assigned for the next day. They may also use it for one of their flashcard/reading log entries when specified. Using it for their log entries will not be in effect until I notify the students. Until then, the homework passes may only be used for homework assignments.

The student may not have a parent sign all four days Thursday night, and expect to get the passport stamped on Friday. This is, first of all, deception and is not following directions. I trust that you will support your child in following directions as well as making sure they come to you to sign the agenda book. Having their agenda book signed each night is their responsibility.
