Hello! I am Miss Horak and I will be teaching your child this year. This
year will be my third year teaching at Northside Christian School. I grew up
in a Christian home and am the oldest of 10 children. Yes, we all came from
one dad and one mom:) I was homeschooled all through elementary school and
highschool. I graduated with my B.S. in Elementary Education
with a minor in music from Bob Jones University in 2003. Right after
graduation, I began working at Bob Jones University as a Graduate Assistant
in the Records Office on campus, and began working on my graduate degree in
counseling. I completed my degree and received a M.S. in Counseling in 2005
from BJU. The fall following graduation, I came to teach at Northside and
have been teaching third grade ever since.
Some of the things I enjoy are reading books for my spiritual growth,
playing the piano, traveling, taking road trips,
drinking Starbuck frappucinos, and working on this teacher website! I have
traveled to Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, England, and Spain!
For each student to have a desire to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
I want each child to hide God's Word in their heart and have a love for the
His Word.
I want to inspire a love for learning and reading and to make learning
interesting and a fun, memorable experience.
I want the students to be able to compute addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division problems quickly and automatically.
