THE INTERNET???
A word about Internet safety!
It is reality that your child will be accessing the internet as a part of
their education!
As a parent, it is important that safety guidelines be followed!
Please never allow your child to "SURF" the WEB! This should be viewed much
the same way as a "man's shopping experience", if you will! When a man goes
shopping, he goes to the store with a purpose and buys his item, then leaves.
Go to the website needed, retrieve your information, then leave!
Have a purpose for going to the web and stick to the purpose.
Just browsing and surfing without any real direction can lead to
disastrous results for you and your child!
Much research has been done on the dangers of the internet!
However, the internet can be a wonderful research tool if used correctly!
You should have appropriate filters and blockers set up on your computers at
home to avoid explicit materials coming into your home!
Always find the internet sites with your child and have some very clear
guidelines for its use!
Never, ever allow your child to use the internet in a secluded room!
If you need help setting up blockers or have any other questions, please
contact me, and I will be able to direct you to some helpful materials to
keep your computer a safe environment for your child!
The links from my website have been proven to be safe!
I will always attempt to have links that enable appropriate research for
assignments!
Thanks!
