WHAT IS THE CONTINENT WEBQUEST ASSIGNMENT?

The Continent Assignment is a WEB assignment that serves 2 
purposes.
1. It helps students adapt to the use of the internet as a tool
for research and learning.
2. It is a fun way to review geography skills.

HOW DO I STUDY FOR A HISTORY TEST?

1. You should read through the notes and book section we talked 
about that day.
2. You should read through all your NOTES that you fill out at
least every other day.
3. You should have someone quiz you with your notes and book the
night before a quiz.
4. The person quizzing you should turn your notes into questions
for you to answer and/or ask you the questions from the book.
DON'T FORGET TO ALWAYS BE REVIEWING YOUR ATLAS PAGES IN THE BACK
OF THE BOOK!!

WHAT IS THE ABC STATE NOTEBOOK?

ABC AMERICA PERFORMANCE TASK
CREATE AN “ABC BOOK” FOR ASSIGNED STATE
NAME:__________________ STATE:_____________
This project will be done over the course of the school year. Parents are encouraged to help your child access information at home, on the Internet, and at the
library. You may even choose to write to a state agency for more information!
INDIVIDUAL DUE DATES ARE ON THE YEARLY PROJECT
DUE DATES INFORMATION PAGE WHICH WILL BE POSTED
ON THE CLASS WEBSITE.

EACH BOOK SHOULD CONTAIN:
• 26 Pages: Each page must contain:
Letter in large print tied to a KEY WORD.
What the letter represents in your state.
This should be something of importance to the state
i.e. (A is for Apple for Washington State).
• Three to Five well-written sentences in paragraph form that explain the connection to your state.
• Illustrations, graphs, or maps to match each letter.

Fill the page with color.
• NO PENCILS! Use crayons, colored pencils, etc. to illustrate.
• DO NOT USE PRINTED OUT PICTURES FROM THE WEB SITE FOR EVERY ILLUSTRATION! DRAW AS MANY OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS AS POSSIBLE!

I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR MAP OUTLINE AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCLUDING THE REQUIRED INFORMATION ON THAT MAP.

On the Map
Include the following information:
Show 3 cities including the capital city.
Show major water and landmarks such as forests, deserts etc.
You may include anything else of importance to your state on your map
Make sure you include a key to your map

• Q is for Quarter…try to find and include your state’s quarter.
• R is for Recipe – A traditional recipe from your state.
• S is for Statehood (what year did the state join the United States?
• T is for Timeline – include at least 3 dates, other than statehood, that are important to your state in a timeline.
