2012-2013 Sibling Registration Information IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE OFFICE We are finalizing our numbers for the 2012-2013 school term at Orange Grove Elementary Charter School. If you have not registered your NEW Kindergarten or other school age sibling(s) for next year, you must do so as soon as possible. This should be completed by February 1, 2012. We cannot guarantee a spot for your child after this date.

Parenting Workshops 2011-2012 Parenting Workshop Schedule Jan 26th: ADHD Informational Presentation Feb 23rd: ADHD-Round Table Discussion

Terracycle http://www.terracycle.net/ Once again this year we are collecting drink/juice pouches. I will have a tub outside our door (K-3, A106) on Fridays for your to drop them into. Please only bring them to our room on Fridays, when the tub is outside our door. I have a wonderful parent who has graciously volunteered to count and process them for us. I do ask that everyone makes sure the juice is gone from all the pouches, straws removed, and if possible rinsed off and dried. I know it sounds like a lot to ask, but you could make it a class project and it helps with the leaks onto our cars and the smell in our houses. Thanks again for your help. Last year we were able to raise $100. At 2 cents a pouch it will add up. The great part of this program is they pay for the shipping. Congratulations Studio Art Students Congratulations to the Studio Art class Who won FIRST place in the ornament contest for the Christmas tree at Marion Square! Way to go!!!

Award Winning Artists at Orange Grove!! Congratulations to Ms. Allen and her award-winning artists! Abby S. won third place in the Christmas Card Contest at St. Andrews Parks and Playground. She also won a $50 gift certificate. McKenna R won a $50 gift certificate for second place in the Christmas Card Contest. Vivian M's artwork won 1st place for the Christmas Card Contest at St. Andrew's parks and playground. She won a $100 gift certificate. Congratulations to the following students that won grand prize and runner up to the St. Andrews Parks and Playground Christmas Card design contest. Third to Fifth grade category Grand prize winner – Marie M.(4C) - $100.00 gift and her design will be used for their Christmas Card front cover. Second to Third grade category – McKenna R. (2B) $50.00 gift card K-1 grade category – Abby S, (1E) - $50.00 gift card Way to go Orange Grove! This is the first time ever that all winners came from the same school.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sturm's Class! Congratulations to Mrs. Sturm, and her class with the help of Mrs. Guild, Mrs. Poston, Mrs. Carter, and Mrs. Green. They are featured in the newspaper for their donation to the charity “The Teacher’s Supply Closet”. The proceeds were from the spooky fun house they held back in October. Thanks to everyone who attended the fun house a big thank to Mrs. Sturm and her awesome class!!!!
