On October 25th we held our first Lunch and Learn Parent Worshop planned for this year. Mary DeGuzman, owner of The Learning Tree Tutoring Service, presented "Homework Help 101" to our parents. Parents enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken salad croissants, fruit, and cookies while learning some helpful parenting skills.

 Rise and Read

Kindergarten Parents enjoyed coming to PGS on the morning of September 22nd to read to their children in our school's media center. This was the first of several Rise N' Read days planned for this school year. We had a fantastic turn out!

 Scarecrow
Students who are members of our 4H and Youth Advisory Council on Nutrition worked together to make a scarecrow out of all recycled materials. The scarecrow was entered in a contest at the Piedmont Interstate Fair. It was not a problem for the students to gather the materials to make him! We have a HUGE recycling program at PGS! Nurse Nancy Stewart and Mrs. Michels, our media specialist helped the children get started with the scarecrow project.
