Class Rules:
RESPECT!
1. Talk in turn.
2. Use positive, appropriate behavior and language.
3. Keep yourself and your belongings in your own personal space.
4. Return borrowed items as you received them.
5. Stay positive! :-)
Classroom Procedures:
All procedures will be demonstrated throughout the first week of school. Mr.
Johnson reserves the right to change or adapt procedures to better benefit
any individual class.
Pencil Sharpening Policy: Pencils are to be sharpened at the
beginning of class. If necessary, pencils may be sharpened with
permission after the day’s mini lesson.
Food/Drink: There is no eating during class. Students will not
chew gum. Bottled water is acceptable but not soda.
Hand-out Policy: Papers will be passed out by Mr. Johnson and
the classroom assistant. Classroom assistants will be chosen
randomly at the beginning of each class period by draw.
Talking Policy: When Mr. Johnson raises his hand, students are
to listen and refrain from talking. This is no speaking when Mr.
Johnson addresses the class. If students continue talking when Mr.
Johnson raises his hand, he will count down from 5. If students
continue talking when Mr. Johnson reaches 0, we will spend the rest of
class writing silently.
HW Policy: Homework will be turned into the Homework Tray
unless otherwise directed at the beginning of each class. Late
homework will not be accepted without the approval of Mr. Johnson.
Homework will updated on the white board in class as well as on the
website.
Late work: Mr. Johnson takes 10 pts after the first day late. 5
pts will be taken off after each day until a student can make no
higher than a 70.
Bathroom Policy: Students will use their agendas as passbooks
when they need to use the restroom. Only one student will be allowed
out of the classroom at a time on a bathroom pass.
Yellow cards/Red cards: Yellow cards equate warnings. Mr.
Johnson will place a yellow card or yellow Post-It on a student's desk
as a reminder of the warning. Students may receive two yellow cards
(warnings) before a red card. If a student receives a red card then he
or she will receive a detention and email home. Mr. Johnson may go
directly to a red card if the student's behavior immediately warrants
a detention.
