About The Teacher

I attended Furman University for my BA degree in Elementary Education. I
received my Master's from Charleston Southern. This is my 29th year of
teaching. I have taught in many different school districts and in grades 1-
6. However, I have been at Rollings since 1985.
My husband, Ray, works as an engineer at Santee Cooper Electric
Company. I have two sons: Nicholas is 26, has just graduated Charleston
Southern University. He has started working for Apple Computers in downtown
Charleston. Zachary is 21, has graduated
from SHS, worked for three years as a ballroom dance instructor at
American Dance Company and is currently looking for a job and wants to start
Trident Tech.
Two years, my nephew, Matt, came to live with my family. He is going into
eighth grade this year. I have a dog, Cassie, my shadow and my love. She
comes to school on occassion as a reward for my students. She worked two
years ago as a therapy dog for a student who had to earn the privelege of
her coming to school by getting all wells on his point sheet. We have a cat
named Tinker Bell. She was rescued with her two siblings from a wild mother
by Mrs. Sauer (8th grade teacher here). Mrs. Sauer hand fed the babies
until they were litter-box trained and eating solid food. We named the
cat "Tinker Bell" and she is very loving (She used to love to nurse on our
earlobes-I think because she was taken from her mom so early!) I love
tosing, garden, and spend time with my family. I love to read and listen to
all kinds of music. I am a member of Summerville Baptist Church and have
sung in the Lowcountry Singing Christmas tree in the past. My favoriteplace
to visit is the mountains.

Mission For The Class

The mission of this class is to give our best in everything we attempt, to
learn to be accepting and work with others, and to learn about how man
developed and why he developed in the diverse ways that he did.
