Three Level 1 RMSA artists will have their acrylic paintings on display in the Southeastern
Wildlife Expo (SEWE) on February 13, 14, & 15, 2009. Elizabeth Edwards, Reilly Hagan, and
Samantha Bantly received Honorable Mention in the Junior Federal Duck Stamp composition. These
pieces were created by viewing taxidermy ducks, so students built their observation and painting
skills. I am proud of all the paintings created by our Level 1 artists, and am very
pleased that three of our artists received special recognition. If you attend SEWE this
weekend, I hope you’ll make time to view the Duck Stamp exhibit at Gaillard Auditorium. (I
believe it will be on the 2nd floor.)The SEWE website is - http://www.sewe.com/

BIG NEWS!
We installed our Stainless Steel sculpture on September 23, 2008. It is located by our front
entrance. Visual Art students in Levels 2 and 3 contributed to the design, construction, and
installation. The sculpture represents the arts - which is the heart of Rollings! We are so
proud of our students work, and grateful for this opportunity. Until you have a chance to see
the sculpture in person, please enjoy the photos on my 'Gallery' page!
* Special thanks go to Mr. Barnfield, District Arts Coordinator
Mr. Doster, Artist in Residence
and our supportive administrators, Ms. Furnari and Mrs. Pinckney
