Level 2 Theatre Student of the Month: The award goes to Actress, Lauren Abercrombie! Lauren
has amazed her peers with her growth in the Theatre over the past year. She has gone from fear
to fun on the stage. Recently, she took on the very challenging part as Templeton, the rat
in “Charlottes Web.” She did a great job making the part her own. Lauren is not only great on
stage but dedicated to supporting her peers in the classroom and on stage. Mrs. Baird says ” I
am so proud of the confidence I see from Lauren she amazes daily with her growth as an actress –
You Go Girl!”
Congratulations to level one students Cody Merree, Anna Burgess and Austin Richardson, they
threw Mrs. Baird out of her chair during their amazing monologue performances. Because of their
success they will be a part of the 2009 State Theatre Arts Competition - you go!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to the following students for being named September Theatre Student of the Month
Level 1: Damondre Green has been named the Level 1 Student of the Month. Damondre has been
acting for about one year. He has been in a few short plays titled "Scared Who Me", and another
play "Shhh!" Last year he was the speaker during his school's Veterens Day Celebration.
Damondre left his peers speechles after his incredible Musical Pantomime. He says "my favorite
thing about being a theatre arts students is getting to act every day while I am at school."
Jarod Weis is the student of the month for level two theatre arts. Jarod has performed in
numerous plays such as If You See Amanda, James & The Giant Peach, Alice in Wonderland, & he
also was part of the movie cast Baku the Travel Bug. He is currently taking on the role of
Wilbur in his 7th grade play Charlottes Web. Mrs. Baird says “Jarod amazes me daily with his
commitment to learning his lines, and performing some of the most difficult blocking I’ve ever
given. I have seen tremendous growth in him this last year – way to go JAROD!”
Jessica Hagins is the student of the month for level three theatre arts. Jessica has performed
in numerous plays such Excuses, Excuses, Junie B. Jones & A Little Monkey Business, and the The
Wiz . She is currently taking on the role of Stella in her 8th grade play Divine Stella Devine.
Mrs. Baird says “Jessica is such a talented actress! She is not only talented on stage, but she
gives 110% to everything she is involved in. The audience will be stunned with her Stellar
performance!”
