Classroom Guidelines

Hello,
I am excited about the new year! Please review the following Classroom
Procedures and Parent Letter. Please print the information and sign the
letter to submit to me during the first week of school.

PARENT LETTER
August 21, 2008

Dear Parents,

Hello! My name is Stephanie Baird, and I will be your child’s
6th/7th grade Theatre Arts Teacher for the 2008-2009 school year at Rollings
Middle School. I am very excited about the upcoming school year, and I
feel it necessary to inform you about a few things to help this year get off
to a great start.
First, I would like to tell you a few things about me so you can get
to know me better. I am married, and have two boys. I am from Summerville
and support Dorchester District Two completely. I am a 1991 graduate of
Summerville High School, and a 1995 graduate of Charleston Southern
University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and English.
I love the Theatre, and I cannot wait to share my passion with your
children.

I welcome you into our classroom at any time. I will be extending
invitations to all parents when the students are having graded
performances. I would like for you to come and watch your child perform
the art they have worked so hard to master. I understand that you are busy
and may not be able to always attend, however know you are welcome! I will
send further information as the time draws near.

I am attaching a copy of my classroom rules, consequences and
rewards, please take the time to review them and go over them with your
child. I am also sending you a copy of my classroom procedures. This is a
lengthy document, but please take time and review it carefully. It gives
explicit details about the way I expect the classroom to run. It also
explains my policy for late work, and the responsibilities of the student
for make-up work if they are absent. Please sign these forms and return
them for me to include in your child’s classroom file.

Again, I am excited about this school year. I believe we are going
to do great things in the Theatre department. I look forward to working and
getting to know you and your child. Please contact me at anytime if you
have a question or concern about your child’s progress. You may reach me by
calling 873-3610 or e-mail me at sbaird@dorchester2.k12.sc.edu.

Sincerely,
Stephanie F. Baird
