Reading Strategy:
Mental Images: Mental images are the pictures you get in your mind as you read. Those images help readers to better understand what they are reading. Ask your child to recall mental images after you finish reading a book.
Writing Skill:
Richer Vocabulary: Using words in your writing that are “richer” (better) words. Example: instead of saying dog, say: a black lab. The richer vocabulary lets the reader know EXACTLY what kind of dog it is.
