I am a native of Spartanburg, and have been a speech therapist for 39 years.
I began my career in 1970 in District 7, and served, believe it or not, 9
schools. Throughout my career, I have worked in Districts 2, 3, and 5, served
students at the McCarthy/Teszler School at the Charles Lea Center,
independently contracted, and worked for the Spartanburg Speech and Hearing
Clinic. At one time, I even sold real estate! Regardless, my calling is truly
to be a speech therapist, and I feel privileged to have enjoyed my life long
passion. My work at Woodruff Primary has been a joy since we have a team of
therapists here. I'm proud to be part of a school that works so hard to
assure each student's success.
Outside of school, my passions are spending time with my husband, my three
children, and my three beautiful grandchildren. We all love Wofford football
and basketball, and are loyal fans. Between school and family, I manage to
squeeze time in at the Episcopal Church of the Advent and the Spartanburg
Athletic Club. I can also be found having lunch with friends and my sisters,
taking long walks in the woods, and reading.
