About The Teacher

Hello,

My name is Lorrie Harmon. I have been at Woodruff Primary School for seven
years. Before coming to Woodruff Primary School, I taught 1st grade at
Slater Marietta Elementary school. I love teaching little children and
watching them as they learn new and exciting things!

In high school (Woodruff High School), I had a teacher who told me that I
would not be happy until I was teaching. At the time, I thought he was
crazy. I didn't want to be a teacher. I went on to Clemson University and
graduated with a BS degree in business. I began working in the banking
industry, but to much dismay....I was not happy. It was then that I
realized that my teacher in High School knew exactly what he was talking
about....I DID want to be a teacher. I enrolled at USCS (now USCU) and
became certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Childhood Education. My
first teaching job was at Slater Marietta. After several years there, I
came back home to Woodruff. I have never been happier! I will never forget
that teacher in high school who knew me enough (more than I knew myself) and
cared enough to know exactly what would make me happy. My dream is to
know and touch the lives of my students in the same way.

I am married to my wonderful husband of 19 years, Allan Harmon. I am also
lucky to be the mother of two of the most wonderful children in the world,
Jarrod and Monica. Jarrod is 13 years old, and in the 8th grade at Woodruff
Middle School. Monica is 9 years old, and in the 4th grade at Woodruff
Elementary School. I love my family dearly and love spending time with
them. We spend alot of time together on our horse farm. We really enjoy
riding. My family and I attend Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore. Our
church is a very important part of our lives.

Mission For The Class

Our hope as a class is to learn all that we can learn and have fun doing it!
