About The Counselor

I'm beginning my 8th year at WPS. I enjoy working with
the teachers, parents, and especially the students. I graduated from Clemson
University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and received my
Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees in school counseling
from the Univeristy of South Carolina. Saturdays in the fall I'll be wearing
orange and yelling "Go Tigers!" My husband and I live in Laurens with our
dog Molly, 4 year old son Brian, and 7 month old daughter Ruthie. My husband
teaches and coaches at Laurens District 55 High School, so we're usually at
a sporting event or playing with trains (my son's favorite hobby). We also
enjoy watching Ruthie learn new things.

My Counseling Program and WPS Mission

The primary focus of school counseling and guidance programs at the
elementary level is prevention. My goal is to help students develop more
positive interpersonal and intrapersonal skills... assisting them in
becoming happier, more effective individuals and learners. My school
counseling and guidance program is for every student at WPS; therefore, my
services are designed to reach every student through developmental,
preventative education, and responsive services.

It is the mission of Woodruff Primary School to support students as they
develop skills and strategies that help them achieve success.
